Ethical approval from only one accredited MREC/METC or the CCMO is required for multi-centre trials.
The majority of the MRECs/METCs review multicentre research for all of the institutions in the Netherlands.
The type of reviewing EC depends on the type of research.
However, the approval („reserach declaration“) of the board of directors from each of the participating sites is required for execution of the study in its own institution.
